Hey, My friends were talking about guild wars and i thought it sounded awesome. I downloaded the beta client and cant wait to get a cd key. I like to play muonline, and this sounded like a nice change.
There are a couple things im confused about:

-How does leveling up work if there are only 6 or so skills you can use in total(or so the official site said)?

-how is a party different from a guild? is it the people from the guild you are playing with at the time, or just any friends that you are playing with?

-How is the beta version different from the full version?

Thanks,
-G

Well you can level by completing quests, and by killing stuff. Oh and not 6, but 8 skills at any given time.

A party is who you fight with, usually random people. A Guild is what you do PvP with, and where you roleplay most of the time.

Well the public doesn't really know, since we've never seen the final copy.

Its odd, at the begining levels I have only 5 skills, but recently my level 13 character has had 8 spots, but 3 of them are white and I can't add any to it.

6 PROFESSIONS

ABOUT 75 SKILLS/PROFESSION

2 professions per character and only 8 skills at one time switch among skills at any town or outposr camp etc

the beta is less than 40 percent of the retail maybe only 25-30 per cent

GW is a very competitive RPG game. some may not call it RPG because its not all about leveling up and big storyline like others. u should preorder it (from a place which sends u your CD key b4 the next beta event) ie. ebgames does not send u beta acces key until it is released if u do not live in US.

preorder it and give it a try :: if u only wish to preorder and tryout the game :
https://www.interactcd.com/ but since theres only one beta event left~ just taking the beta access key isnt gonna be good. so i recommend preordering and participating in beta and then when the full game is released hopefully u will have much more fun.

CONTENT

Actually I'm not sure that the percentage number is still correct. That number came out a few betas ago, and as you've noticed they've added a lot of new content since then.

I believe we're going to see more fleshed out quests, lore (which is just being put in now), and some more actual content but I don't think it's quite as high percentage as you stated although I would love to be surprised.

------

SKILLS

As stated, you can only take 8 skills into a mission with you at one time but it is possible to have 150 total skills for you characters so there's a large number of ways to build that character.

------

GUILDS

Guilds are the group of players you choose to have an affiliation with. This group currently can be as large as 100. From this group you can choose to fight Guild vs Guild battles (which can only be done with people from your guild against another guild), you can play with them in other PvP events, or in PvM missions or explorable areas. You'll also have a special chat channel for the guild and hopefully some other things that haven't been released yet.

-----

PARTIES

Parties are the groups of players you group up with (normally 4-8 total people) and adventure with for missions, explorable areas, and some PvP groups. They can be people from your guild or just others that you either meet in game or sometimes randomly assigned to. Parties are not permenant associations and can be changed at any outpost or town.
